These appliances have a longer working span because raw materials such as carbide are used in their manufacture. Engineers are satisfied with an appliance that works well, costs cheaper and has a longer working span. This is why industries put a lot of effort when focusing on the durability of products. This also explains why durable gadgets have high demand in the hardware stores.

The reason elements such as diamond and carbide are used in the manufacture of cutting tips is because they are resistant to cracks and fracture. Cracks lead to inefficiency in the operation of a mechanical appliance. People should, however, store equipment properly to prevent moisture and other agents that cause rust from intruding. This will increase the durability of the equipment.
