Floaters are a symptom that appears in the eye for many people throughout their lives, and in many cases they are absolutely harmless. They can appear as tiny black dots in the eye, but also take other forms such as stringy strands or large cloudy dots in the eye too. They often hover around the field of vision, but many people can find they rarely affect vision as their eyesight adapts to them.
