My Mother Has Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's is a common disease which takes a long time to be detected. In a few words, slowly but permanently the brain loses its functions and the body eventually fails. At first, the person starts to forget what he or she planned to do, they forget where they left the car keys, where they were going, these are a few examples of easy, every day things we do and many times these flashes of forgetfulness are attributed to age and distraction. As the disease advances they start to forget places and people's names. They lose muscular coordination, stop talking and become erratic. It is a terrible disease, many times embarrassing and they try to hide it many times out of pride and others out of confusion. Dealing day to day with the needs of one of these people can be extremely frustrating and hard.
